About Us
The Canine Comfort Club provides veterinary-directed therapeutic support for geriatric, mobility-compromised, and end-of-life hospice patients.
Services include gentle massage, prescribed modalities, thermotherapy, passive range of motion with weight bearing, light mobility exercises and stretching, and supportive nursing care. We also support and help educate you in managing and understanding your dog's quality of life at home.
All therapeutic services are mobile, conducted in the home by a qualified professional, and provided under veterinary or physiotherapy referral.
Wellness massage for healthy dogs is also available – No referral required. A lighter service focused on relaxation, stress reduction, and overall well-being.
Unlike a veterinary clinic, we do not diagnose or treat medical conditions. We work alongside your veterinarian to provide gentle, evidence-based touch and supportive nursing care in the place your dog feels safest — home.
Francesca Lavarone
Canine Rehabilitation Therapist (CCRVN, Cert IV VN)
I am a dedicated veterinary rehabilitation professional, bringing internationally recognised expertise and deep local understanding to the pets of Hong Kong.
My clinical foundation is as an Australian Certified Veterinary Nurse (Certificate IV), with over six years of hands-on experience in veterinary hospitals across Australia, The Netherlands, and Hong Kong. In Europe, I focused on anaesthesia and pain management in surgical settings, always prioritising patient comfort.
Driven by a passion for improving quality of life, I pursued advanced specialisation to become a US Certified Canine Rehabilitation Veterinary Nurse (CCRVN) through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in Missouri, USA. I have since developed a particular interest in geriatric and neurological rehabilitation.
Today, I work daily alongside veterinary specialists in a well-established physical therapy rehabilitation practice in Hong Kong. From this clinical base, I developed my mobile service: providing wellness massage for healthy dogs and veterinary-prescribed comfort care for geriatric, mobility-compromised, and hospice patients.
Having grown up in Hong Kong and practiced here throughout my career, I understand the specific needs of pets and owners in our unique urban environment. My mission is to bring compassionate, evidence-based supportive care directly to your home.
I also enjoy giving workshops on canine massage and educating owners on quality of life and brain ageing in animals.
More Good Days than bad
My goal is not to replace veterinary care but to offer something alongside it: gentle, evidence-based comfort and supportive nursing care at home. I aim to provide an affordable, cooperative service for owners who are struggling or who want to do more for their dog.
I do not make the call on quality of life or timing. That belongs to the owner and their veterinarian. What I can do is help owners observe what is happening at home — not just a single hard day, but the pattern. I can help them document their observations so they do not forget important details in the exam room. I am here to help owners understand quality of life, prepare for difficult conversations with their vet, and feel supported in whatever decisions they make.
